First charge of the battery has taken about 4 or 5 hours. Note the controller requires 4 AA batteries (not included). Calibration instructions are easy. First flight went well. Handled slight breeze really well. The return home function works really nicely. Camera has a micro SD chip slot, comes w/ 8GB card. Picture quality is good. I tried the app it works well, the follow-me function is great. Blades are rugged, but it does come with 4 spare blades if you crash it. Definitely for outdoor use only. Camera is good, I may want to get a goPro for it…

I finally got to fly my new HS700 today. Weather has been awful, and flying it indoors is no fun.
I’m always impressed with the quality of HolyStone drones. This is my 4th one, and I like the design of this the best so far.
Assembling it is simple. No tools required, everything is twist and lock, and before you know it I was ready to fly.
I flew it today in some breezy conditions. Using the GPS mode stabilized it nicely. I turned off GPS mode mid flight to see what would happen. Away it flied, out of my control. Turned GPS mode back on and I immediately gained control. Pretty cool.
I put it to the test by flying it higher and further than I ever have before. In fact, had it so high that I lost sight of it in the overcast skies. I pressed “Return to Home” and sure enough, it did just that.

Right out of the box you’ll notice the Holy Stone HS700 FPV Drone with 1080p HD Camera is designed well. Assembly is easy and I will be comparing several features of the HS700 to my existing HS100 drone.

The propellers attached to the brushless motors are thicker than others making them less prone to damage, and you’ll get several extra props in the box thrown in for good measure, and a convenient feature about this particular drone is the box it comes in is able to be used as a carry and transport box, saving on the cost of buying a specialty case. The HS700 does not come with propeller guards so it’s more compact, allowing for the drone, remote, and a handful of accessories to ride along together.

Once you get to flying, you’ll notice the built-in GPS holds the drone in place while the camera dampening bracket streams back smooth and jitter-free video. The range is really good and I really like that the remote is included. Yes, this drone comes with the remote unlike another three-letter overpriced competitor.

The Holy Stone HS700 FPV Drone with 1080p HD Camera comes with one drone battery and you’ll need the included proprietary charger to recharge it. The professional look and feel of both the drone and remote  convey quality.
